Finding time to dedicate to staying healthy can be difficult. The Center for Disease Control recommends at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. For working men and women it can be especially problematic to find time to make those healthy lifestyle choices.
MapWalk was one of the resources that I found useful with our WOW Initiative. MapWalk is a unique and free online resource that helps us stay active and use the communities we live in to do so. Whether it’s a 15, 30, or 60 minute route in the morning, at lunch, or after work, you can easily get your physical activity in for the day. After choosing your route it will tell you the distance, time, and calories which are burned on each route.
To the left is one of the mapping routes we created for the downtown businesses that are a part of WOW. WOW Loop in Waupaca … A loop off of Main Street in Downtown Waupaca. 1/2 mile route passing Embellishments, Studio 212, Office Outfitters and The Paint Store.
