Waupaca County Board Passes Centennial Resolution

4H-Centennial-art-websizeAt the April meeting of the Waupaca County Board of Supervisors, three Waupaca area youth spoke about their involvement in 4-H and Penny Tank, 4-H Program Advisor, thanked the County Board for their support of 4-H youth programming.  Elisha Riley, Casey Lake 4-H Club, highlighted her involvement as a 4-H Ambassador and fourth generation 4-H member.  Chloe Hamm, Casey Lake 4-H Club, shared one of her leadership opportunities through 4-H as being the current president of her club.  Danielle Arnold, Chain O’Lakes 4-H, mentioned the horse and goat projects as being two of the areas she most enjoys as 4-H project work.  Following this, the County Board passed a resolution ‘Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development.’ (Resolution No. 1 (14-15)).

Just seven youth attended the first 4-H club meeting in Walworth County on October 30, 1914.  In Waupaca County there are currently 18 4-H Community Clubs with 472 youth members and 233 adult volunteer leaders.
