Achieving Excellence in Dairying

In January of 2016, Dr. Gordy Jones, DVM was the featured speaker at our 54th Annual Waupaca County UW-Extension “Cow College” program in Clintonville.  Dr. Jones received his veterinarian degree from Michigan State University and began his career as a dairy herd veterinarian in 1977 in Waupaca County (Weyauwega/Fremont area) and later in Oconto County.  Following fifteen years of dairy herd field practice, Dr. Jones became a highly sought after consultant, especially in the area of dairy facility design and nutrition.  In fact Gordy helped design and manage the largest US dairy farm, Fairy Oaks Dairy, located in northern Indiana.  More recently he helped build and continues to provide management support for Central Sands Dairy LLC in central WI.  He continues to provide consulting services around the work in dairy facility design and management.
