The LWC program guides participants through a series of workshops, tours, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences. Throughout the past 18 classes, evaluations from the participants consistently indicate significant increases in personal growth, leadership skills, greater confidence in assuming leadership roles, and the establishment of a county-wide network of great friends to draw upon.
This nine-month program meets the second Thursday each month beginning in September. The class spends the January session in Madison over two-days. Over the course of the program participant work on a project based on topics / issues that are currently affecting Waupaca County. In May the class wraps up their year with the presentation of these project and a dinner celebrating their graduation of LWC.
